The opening scene from Werner Herzog's film Nosferatu (based on Dracula).

Where was this scene filmed? Why do you think Herzog decided to film there? What do you think of the music? Does this scene make you want to keep watching?

  1. I think this part was filmed in Guanajuato, Herzog decided to film there because YOLO Mexico is an excellent location to film vampire movies with such scary mummies? ok. I think the music fits for the images that are presented but probably Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball would have been a better option, however this music gives you the chills. The scene makes me want to never go to Guanajuato but yeah, I would watch the movie.

  3. Thats right, it is Guanajuato, I mean even though the movie is from 1979, it really scared the living F....iretrucks out of me. The mummies really make you think that Nosferatu was the one who killed those poor people so it was a really good strategy from Herzog.

  4. It could be Guananjuato, definitely. Herzog filmed in there to get a scarry moo.
I wouldn´t like to keep watching it. It was a bit boring and scarry at the same time.

  5. I agree with the others, it was evidently filmed in Guanajuato with its famous mummies. The music contributes in adding suspense and mystery to the beginning. All of these factors make me want to watch the rest of the movie because it leaves me wondering abut what the mummies have to do with the story and why that woman has dreams about them.

I agree, all of your answers are correct, this mummies are in the beautiful city of Guanajuato. This is an old city were long time ago some people found that the death bodies were mummified, because of this mummies Guanajuato is one of the most important cities in Mexico. The museum of Guanajuato have all this mummies that the opening scene of Nosferatu.
Also I agree with Denisse talking about the music used in the scene, making it scarier and helping the mummies look good, like mummies need to look, scary!
